And now I will show you the greatest way of all...

I may speak in tongues of men or of angels, but if I am without love, I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal. I may have the gift of prophecy, and know every hidden truth, I may have faith strong enough to move mountains, but if I have no love, I am nothing. I may give out all I possess, or even give my body to be burnt, but if I have no love, I am none the better.

Love is patient, love is kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. There is nothing love cannot face; there is no limit to its faith, its hope and its endurance.

Love will never come to an end. Are there prophets? their work will be over. Are there tongues of ecstasy? they will cease. Is there knowledge? it will vanish away; for our knowledge and our prophecy alike are partial, and the partial vanishes when wholeness comes.

When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, like God’s knowledge of me.

In a word, there are three things that last forever: faith, hope, and love - but the greatest of them all is love.

What's happened to the idea and principle of service?? So many folks these days seem to be completely self-serving and worst of all, our politicians seem to have completely forgotten the idea of public service. They really cannot kid us any longer that they are doing it for us! The Reverand Dr.Martin Luther King said "Everyone can be great ... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love".
As a trained martial arts warrior, the idea of serving the school and the master are at the very core of our training. It is not weakness to serve others before oneself - it is powerful, it is liberating and it is love.
For me personally, I love to serve my family, my friends, my students, my community, my country, my Queen, my continent, my planet, my galaxy and most of all my Lord. Jesus Christ was the greatest of all serving warriors. He was prepared to die for us!
